Sometimes after laser hair removal, you may notice slightly red, bumpy skin. This is known as Follicular Edema and is a perfectly normal reaction following treatment.
Follicular edema, or hair follicle swelling, is a perfectly natural reaction.
In 90% of clients it has gone within 15 minutes and some may not get a reaction at all. In rare cases it can last for several days and cause itching. We always recommend using Aloe Vera following treatment.
Why do we recommend using Aloe Vera?
Aloe Vera is a natural product that soothes the skin and is especially recommended if you do have a reaction.
The Aloe Vera is a gel-like substance obtained from aloe, which is a succulent plant that typically grows in hot, dry climates.
According to Dermatologists, there are many benefits of using Aloe Vera which include:
- Soothing sunburn
- Helps to moisturize the skin
- Boost the healing of wounds
- Fights skin aging
- Reduces infection and acne
- Can help reduce dark spots and stretch marks
- and it can help soothe some skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema.
Plus the Aloe Vera we use is 100% vegan friendly and chemical free. And because we are environmentally friendly and also vegan at Lancashire Laser Clinic, we just love Aloe Vera!
